Read LACLIMA's submission, in conjunction with YCL, on the role of non-market approaches (NMAs) in supporting the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under Article 6.8 of the Paris Agreement. This mechanism represents an important step forward by opening the way for new forms of cooperation between the Parties, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and financial resources to address climate change. The call aimed to reinforce the use of the NMA platform as a tool for this exchange and to reflect on how NMAs can help expand the reach of NDCs. LACLIMA emphasized that this potential can only be realized with the engagement of different sectors and, especially, with the active participation of the Parties with the greatest responsibility for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
