LACLIMA participates in the Workshop of the 8th Meeting of the Glasgow Committee on Non-Market Approaches (GCNMA) within the framework of Article 6.8.

At COP 30, LACLIMA achieved an important milestone: that plaque with its name in the negotiation rooms. We were the only Brazilian organization — selected from only eight organizations worldwide, including parties and observers to the Paris Agreement — to make a formal presentation during the workshop of the 8th Meeting of the Glasgow Committee on Non-Market Approaches (GCNMA) under Article 6.8.
The workshop was a space dedicated to the exchange of information on so-called non-market approaches (NMAs) — mitigation and adaptation initiatives that can be registered on the Article 6 NMA Platform for dissemination and potential access to funding, technology, and knowledge. In this context, Juliana Marcussi and Julia Stefany presented the work of LACLIMA and highlighted initiatives that demonstrate Brazil's potential for NMAs.
Good practices, lessons learned, support needs (financial, technological and capacity building) and the types of support already available for the identification, development and implementation of these approaches within the framework of Article 6 were also discussed. LACLIMA also participated in a World Café, which enabled interactions with various international actors interested in learning more about Brazilian initiatives.
This unprecedented participation allowed LACLIMA to have an even greater presence in the UNFCCC ecosystem, enabling it to contribute more actively to reflections and dialogues between parties and observers, reinforcing our role in the implementation and dissemination of climate policies.
