Caroline Rocha, director of public policy, and Flávia Bellaguarda, CEO, represented LACLIMA at Africa Climate Week, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The meeting brought together events mandated to guide the path of negotiations towards COP 30 in Belém, with emphasis on discussions about adaptation, just transition, various informal consultations on financing, and a consultation on the Local Peoples and Indigenous Communities Platform (LCIPP).

On that occasion, LACLIMA promoted the third workshop of the “Just Transitions in Motion - JTiM” project, which was attended by approximately 50 participants, including 15 negotiators. The meeting presented practical examples of the concept of just transition and raised a central question: how to ensure that the transition is not merely temporary, but rooted in the local culture?

• The project aims to drive concrete action on Just Transitions by bringing together diverse stakeholders in inclusive dialogues that go beyond formal climate negotiations. With the support of the COP30 Presidency and the German government, it promotes global collaboration to co-create a practical Just Transition Guide—transforming high-level climate commitments into scalable implementation strategies focused on justice and territory.
